•  Although both texts suggest that we are beyond the need of feminism, the existence of objectification and gender dynamic ideals still relevant from the 50s infers that this is not the case. Despite women being empowered, the patriarchal subtext is still worryingly present in both texts which holds a significant sexist undertone despite the shift in narrative power.
